IF GOD DOES ANSWER PRAYERS, WHY DOESN’T HE ANSWER MY PRAYERS?

The problem with us believers is that we have a wrong conception about what prayer is. Most see prayer to be an application for God to do something for them. Thus they only pray when there is trouble springing up. That is wrong! We are in fellowship with God, thus it is as a result of this fellowship that we can pray to God. Prayer is a fruit of our fellowship with God. It is a medium of communication, chit chatting with God, talking with God, not only asking God to do something for you when you need him. Having gotten this straight, the big question now is, when we ask God in prayer for something, does he answer us? The answer is in the Bible, let’s find it out!

Firstly, people think that the parable of the wicked judge and the widow ( Luke 18:1-8) implies that every believer must push God persistently on a request for Him to respond. Now that is wrong. This scripture is showing us that if a wicked or an ungodly judge can have pity on a widow and respond to her because of her persistence, how much more won’t God respond to his children who call to him? A God who is love, and who is full of compassion and faithful to His children? Luke 18 v 8 says that He will avenge them speedily. So because God responds speedily to our prayers, we need not give up praying, but pray more because as we pray God speedily answers without delay and without us having to persist as if God were a wicked judge who needs persistence to respond Luke 8:1. God is not a type of the wicked judge. Jesus was by this parable giving us a reason and a joy to pray because prayer becomes a burden and unenjoyable if answers are not received.

 God will not answer you because you prayed hard, No! He answers you because His Word says so, ASK, AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE! Someone will say that because I fasted for 30 days, God is supposed to grant my request, NO! God will grant your request based on His Word, not your Works, this is what we call the grace of God at work. So we need to know that, God answers our prayers because His Word says so. Matt 7:7-10

Secondly, God says ask and receive so your joy may be full. Jn 16:24. This tells us that God desires to answer our prayers more than we even want them answered. He desires that we receive answers to our prayers so that our joy may be full.

Matt 7:7-8 says ask AND receive. Many a times we ignore the truth in this scripture because of its simplicity, and secondly because of our experiences. We don’t receive every time we ask of God, because at one point in time, we asked and we didn’t receive. This resulted in people believing that if we didn’t receive from God, then God didn’t answer because it is not His will. That is a mere assumption erupting from our experiences, but God’s Word says that. EVERYONE WHO ASKS RECEIVES. Mat 7:8  J This is the truth and reality, not our experiences.

Thirdly, there is also a misconception about praying according to the will of God. John 14:13-14 says we should ask anything IN THE NAME OF JESUS, and God will do it. Thus what you ask for in prayer is not limited, but how you ask for it is what determines you receiving. WE ASK IN THE NAME OF JESUS, that is HOW we are supposed to ask. As for WHAT to ask, Bible says ANYTHING. Hallelujah! God is bound by His Word, thus what God cannot do is operate outside His Word. Thus anything you should ask for should be in His Word, eg: good health, good marriage, schooling etc, anything you ever need for life and godliness. Hallelujah!

So having known from God’s word that the issue is not God answering our prayer’s, now let’s move on to the main issue, How do we receive what God has answered?.

AMAZING TRUTH!!!.....THE PURPOSE OF THE SCRIPTURE..

WHY DO WE NEED TO STUDY AND KNOW THE SCRIPTURES?

Many people may doubt the authenticity of God’s Word, but I believe it is The Truth.   The reason you can trust this word is true is simple: GOD SAID IT! So did God also write it? Alright, Bible says that ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God. God inspired men to write His word. In other words, men received inspiration from God to put down whatever he told and taught them. They received these words in their spirit. The thing is that, God gave the message to the spirit of man, and now man translated the message from the spirit into the mind, that was when the message was downloaded into any human language. So, it is something God Himself had in His heart, he intends His church to have access to it, because the church needs it. That was why he made it available. So what is it going to be used for? According to 2 Tim 3:16, it is meant for:

1.      Teaching- that is for information or instruction on the doctrines or teachings of God

2.      Rebuking – point out what is wrong, it describes or defines wrong, and it doesn’t hide it, but reveals it

3.      Correcting – that is straightening up again, bringing someone back to the right place that he ought to be and function

4.      Training for righteousness – instruction for righteous living/nurturing to grow in righteousness

Now the scripture is first used for teaching. This is a very important activity the church must engage in. Every Christian must be taught the Word of God, so that they will be firmly rooted in this Gospel of Truth they have come to accept. It will make them function better in the kingdom, and also make them understand their relationship with God. Also when taught well, they will not accept any other teachings which is not scriptural. All these depend on the foundation laid in teaching them. Secondly it is used for rebuking, that is reproaching any action that is inconsistent with what the scriptures teach.  Thus for rebuke to be effective, the church might have been taught the Gospel. You can tell that it is a wholistic document. You don’t use it for just a part of its functions, example, rebuking without teaching. The Scripture says that “everything in it is profiting for the following”. Profiting here means to enjoy the benefits of the whole document, it tells how useful it is for the believer that is why I doubt if there is any successful believer who is not knowledgeable in the scriptures. The church is like a school for all believers, where they will be taught the Word of God. God expects His children to know His intentions, what he has in store for them, and all these are in His Word. That is not all, this same scripture is for correcting, that is bringing someone back to the right place that he ought to be and function. What it means is that, if someone goes wrong and you want to know how to correct him, the Word of God will show you how. It will tell you how it is supposed to have been done. Glory to Jesus!!!

Finally the Word is to teach us or instruct us about our righteous living. Rom 6:18 tells us that we have been set free from sin and made slaves to righteousness. Through the perfect Work of Jesus Christ, we have become the righteousness of God. Thus God’s Word will teach you to walk in the light of this truth. Hallelujah! Glory to Jesus!

IN OUR DAYS OF HIS POWER AT WORK IN US ! ! !

Have you seen this scripture before? “All power and authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me . THEREFORE go and make disciples of all nations (Matt 28 18-19a).”  Do u know what it means??

Just before Jesus died, he said IT IS FINISHED!! “I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.” Jn 12:24. That is to say Jesus died to bring forth many of his kind – other Jesus’ (that is those who believe in him) Now he has finished with his work, and so ALL POWER AND AUTHORITY IN HEAVEN AND ON EARTH IS HIS, but then we should go on HIS account of the authority he has, and fulfill his purpose and finish it just as he did. So you and I are actually the epitome of the power of Jesus. IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE GREATNESS OF THE POWER OF JESUS, LOOK WITHIN YOU. BUT HOW MUCH WE ARE ABLE TO ACHIEVE DEPENDS ON THAT POWER WHICH IS AT WORK IN US (Eph 3:20) Look at yourself and within you and find out what you can do. How often do you pray, what are the stuff you listen to- don’t forget your faith comes by what you hear, how deep is your fellowship with the Holy Spirit? When God speaks to you, do you listen? Jesus in is days consulted God very early at dawn before day breaks. As “Jesus’es” of this age, how often do we have a quiet moment of intimacy with the Father. Maybe you can take a good time to study Matthew, Mark, Luke and John then you can know who Jesus is and how he behaves.

Now, Jesus finished everything he is supposed to do for us today and tomorrow. How much of it we enjoy is our responsibility. So when Jesus resurrected, he didn’t have to do anymore miracles or preach to anyone, because he finished it before he died, and it was left for us to do what he did, and even more. Actually, he is enjoying his reward:  Phil 2: 5- 9

Now look at this: In the kingdom of God, God is the King of kings, so who are the kings over whom God is king? You and I! 1 Pet 2:9. That is why we will be judged about what we did with our lives and the authority Jesus gave us. Rev 22:12. We will be accountable to our King. As God is, so are we, God is King, so are we. And He is the King of all of us who are kings. So whatsoever becomes of you here on earth is your responsibility.

WAS IT YET HIS TIME? ....MR PRESIDENT??

“Many are the thoughts in the heart of a man, and the counsel of Lord Jehovah will be confirmed” (ABPE). The King James says “There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand” Prov 19:21

I was saddened by the unexpected demise of his Excellency. What happens to the finishing up of his better Ghana Agenda? He had plans to commission the new roads and other infrastructures being constructed. (It wasn’t as if he passed on because he had no plans or he had finished what he wanted to do. He wished to be alive today so to still work at the castle.)

You see people, MANY are the plans WE have, God also has HIS plans, but in the end, HIS plans is what prevails….very serious! So what next??

This brings us to the issue of purpose. We were created by God, we are his. But it is our choice to commit our ways to Him. Every one of us is here to accomplish a task for our maker. Unless we commit our life to Him and dedicate our ways to Him, we will be living in this world, with OUR plans, and not knowing what HIS plans are. ACTUALLY, NONE OF US HAVE A PURPOSE; WE HAVE GOD’S PURPOSE FOR US. We didn’t decide to come to existence, God did. So then, we go back to him and ask him for directions. This thing I’m talking about is very important. It should influence all our decisions here on earth (marriage, business, schooling, friendship etc).

 This is it; this LIFE we have was given to us, and the TIME to spend on earth here, was also given to us…THIS IS FACTUAL!!( Ephesians 1: 5, 3:10-11Hebrews 6: 17, Isaiah 42: 6, Romans 8: 28, Jeremiah 29: 11) The Master will be back to ask what we did with the TIME and LIFE he gave us, mind you, he gave it to us to accomplish HIS purpose. (Rev 22:12). God’s Spirit, The Holy Spirit, is here to lead everyone who has committed his life into His hands, but…it is up to us to decide, to FOLLOW, OR NOT??

The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; BUT TIME AND CHANCE HAPPENETH TO THEM ALL. [Ecclesiastes 9:11]. And to those who don’t think God is for real, and have put all TRUST in their business ventures, if only money, and power could have saved our Papa, I’m sure he would have been here today. God’s Word is Supreme, and all other expertise must bow to it. But I thank God for such a David of a President He gave us, I pray that his favour and wisdom will continually rule in this country. But there is something beyond this life that we must get hold of. That thing is this: BELIEVE IN THE LORD JESUS TODAY, COMMIT YOUR LIFE TO HIM, AND BE SAVED.

For sometime now, I have learnt that, time is not on our side at all, whatever we have to do, we need to do it fast, and this is the same time that government and private businesses owners will put pressure on you to deliver more, and pay you huge amounts for overtime and weekend bonuses.

YOU WILL ACCOUNT FOR YOUR LIFE AND TIME ONE DAY…MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE AND GIVE YOUr LIFE TO JESUS, COMMIT YOUR WAYS TO HIM AND DISCOVER HIS PURPOSE FOR YOU TODAY!!!

WE GOT EVERYTHING IN CHRIST, BUT HOW DO WE LIVE IT OUT???

God's divine power HAS GIVEN US EVERYTHING WE NEED for LIFE (LIVING) AND GODLINESS (SPIRITUAL CONNECTION WITH GOD) through our KNOWLEDGE (by personal relationship) of Him who called us by His glory and Wisdom (2 Peter 1:3) Now, in Christ are hidden ALL the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (which we need to use for the benefit of everything God has given you and I for Life and Godliness, otherwise we live in ignorance and perish). Since these are HIDDEN IN CHRIST, we need to SEARCH to find it. So how do we get access to it?

 The Holy Spirit searches the deep things in God, and reveals it to us. THE HOLY SPIRIT IS YOUR DIVINE CONNECTION TO THE DEEP THINGS OF GOD!!!  (2 Cor 2:9-16) So, Jesus says, ANOTHER ME WILL COME AND GUIDE YOU INTO ALL TRUTH (John 14:16-17a, 26, 16:12-14) (ie: HE WILL GUIDE YOU INTO ALL THE KNOWLEDGE YOU NEED FOR LIFE AND GODLINESS). He is always available to every believer, ALWAYS THERE TO LEAD US AS CHILDREN INTO SONSHIP, BUT HOW MANY CHILDREN OF GOD ARE WILLING TO FOLLOW, AS HE LEADS?? It is only when we follow His leadings, that we can mature in His knowledge into sons. It is at this point that we can appropriate the knowledge for our benefit in all we need for Life and Godliness.

IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO BE A CHILD OF GOD, WE NEED TO GROW AND BECOME SONS, FOR AS LONG AS THE HEIR IS A CHILD, EVEN THOUGH THE INHERITANCE BELONGS TO HIM, SOMEONE ELSE WILL BE IN CONTROL OF IT, UNTIL THE CHILD GROWS TO THE POINT OF MANAGING THE INHERITANCE....(Gal 4:1-7)

Let us humble ourselves under the leadership of the Holy Ghost, so that God will exalt us, to the point where we become matured enough to take control in the kingdom. Just as how every parent takes delight in his child growing, God also takes delight in us growing. We did not just accept Jesus as our Saviour alone, but our Lord as well. This means that He is in a higher authority to lead us, so we need to submit to that authority(leadership). BEING A CHRISTIAN IS A RESPONSIBILITY TO THE KINGDOM OF GOD. We have a responsibility of staying on the Vine tree and bearing fruits that will last(Jn 15:16). That is God’s expectation of us all.

THIS IS YOUR TIME TO MAKE AN IMPART IN YOUR GENERATION, GOD HAS MADE YOU A SOLUTION TO THE WORLD AT THIS TIME...WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT???

THE 21^st Century CHRISTIAN ANNOINTING “DECEPTION”

Many a times every Christian wishes to flow in the anointing of God. We all crave one way or the other to “function” in the anointing. But have you ever asked yourself, is it real? How does it come? Does it come and go? You look at the Smith Wigglesworths, the Pauls, the Peters who preached and over 1500 souls were won at a go, whose shadows even healed the sick. Look at Jesus, he comes form his prayer closet full of the anointing and then news about him spread all aboard, even casting out demons and raising the dead is like easy.(Luke 4:14) When he encountered the devil, he won. (Luke4:1-12) HOW?? WHY??? No doubt, THE ANNOINTING MAKES THE DIFFERENCE, IT SETS YOU APART, IT PUTS YOU AHEAD. And God has given it to us free of charge, we don’t need it in heaven, it is needed here for WORK, for kingdom business (winning souls, building the church in love), and to prove to the world that our belief is for real. With the anointing, you don’t have to struggle to progress with this kingdom work. Its easy, naturally, you live the kingdom life….that is to dominate and to rule on earth: in business , marriage, academia, social life, spiritual life, everywhere.  

LISTEN, ANYONE WHO PURSUES THE ANOINTING AND FORSAKES THE REASON FOR THE ANOINTING, WILL NOT FIND IT. The easy way is to pursue the reason for the anointing in LOVE.(Gal 5:6) In love I mean, in selflessness, not for any personal flex or to make a name as the most anointed person, BUT YOUR DESIRE TO PURSUE GOD’S AGENDA WILL BRING THE ANOINTING. Many a times people pray for several hours, “oh God anoint me”. Listen, when you get into the thoughts and desires of God, the anointing automatically activates, you don’t even need to pray for it. God is now not going to give you a new anointing; the whole anointing you need is in you (1John 2:27). When you dig into it, you will find it and walk in it. Deep things calleth unto the deep J(Ps 42:7).

Smith Wigglesworth used to wake up at dawn to pray and make the communion for himself, at every 3:00am, he is awake. Then when he comes from his closet, operation in the anointing be what! This other pastor saw and wanted to go the same way for the anointing to manifest in his life. He also wakes up early, prays SERIOUSLY, and does the communion, but no manifestation of the anointing came. Then God told him, it is not what Smith did which brought the anointing, it is the heart and the love in which he did it. He totally gave himself away to the trust in the fellowship of God. SEE, ANYONE WHO DESIRES AFTER GOD, ACTIVATES THE ANOINTING. It is not the hours prayed, nor the tapes you play or the songs you sing or the scriptures you know(even the devil knows the scriptures), it is the love you have for God and how willing you are to give back that love. It is that love which will cause you not to even quite praying even if you are tired, it is that love which will make you want to know God more, by so doing, you CONTACT God, thus the ANNOINTING. Don’t forget, the anointing is in you, as you CONTACT the God in you, you CONTACT the anointing in you, by that, you will never run dry. DO NOT FOLLOW FORMULARS TO GET THE ANNOINING BECAUSE YOU WILL NEVER ACCESS IT. CONTACT THE SOURCE OF THE ANNOINTING, AND YOU WILL SEE THE MANIFESTATION OF THE ANNOINTING. SADLY, MANY CHRISTIANS WANT SHORT CUTS, THEY WANT FORMULARS FOR EVERYTHING…….GOD HELP US!!!

The thing about the anointing is this, this is how it happens, you enter into God, you leave with a divine attitude, you have a divine perspective of anything, things become possible for you. You see things the way God see things. You take it easy in any situation you find yourself, no matter how troubling the situation may seem. It gives you hope, the word of God becomes real and possible, you naturally accept whatever it says about you. At this level, you can walk on water, spirits will see your divinity and bow to you, you wouldn’t even have to talk. Hei, at this level, YOU ARE IN CHARGE!!! YOU HAVE ARRIVED!!! LOL. It draws multitudes to you. It gives you solution.
